Horst Alexander Klemm was born in Germany, in 1947 and from a very young age was fascinated with nature and wildlife. After studying graphic design in Stuttgart he discovered a talent and passion for photography and set off to explore the world and examine the planet's last remaining areas of wilderness. Challenged by Africa's immense diversity of cultures, landscapes and wildlife he settled in South Africa 35 years ago and first began working as a photographer winning numerous awards in the field of advertising. His first book "An African Journal" is a unique reflection on the spirit of Africa. Other publications are "Elephants for Africa" and a book featuring South Africa's National Parks "A Celebration". His fine art work depicts the rural communities, landscapes, wildlife and historical architecture of Africa and is noted for his meticulous attention to detail, form and lighting.
